The app offers four different games that progressively increase in difficulty based on correct answers, thus providing a tiered learning system. Additionally, incorrect answers will adjust the level of challenge accordingly. A helpful feature reintroduces incorrectly identified letters to offer another opportunity for mastery.
The default setting of having the letters silent without making their sounds upon touch serves a specific purpose. It is highly recommended that proficiency is gained in ABC MAGIC PHONICS and ABC MAGIC PHONICS 2 before using this app. The intent is to reinforce and test your child's awareness of primary letter sounds as well as aid in memorizing any unfamiliar letter sounds. Leaving the letter sounds off facilitates this process, and we advise against turning them on.
In this app, we prioritize teaching letter sounds over letter names due to their significance in reading proficiency. While knowing letter names is valuable, being able to phonetically read is essential. Children are typically exposed to the ABC song, enabling them to learn letter names naturally. However, explicit instruction on letter sounds is often overlooked. In this app, we solely focus on letter sounds to help children fully grasp their phonetic function.
The games within the app are designed to be independent activities once the child is familiarized with the basic instructions. Built-in feedback mechanisms support independent learning and allow the child to progress at their own pace. This feature enables the adult to observe the child's learning process and provide assistance when needed.
